annoying as heck

Good Point

1) I'm looking for a GPS, for someone who has NO sense of direction. It's got to talk, it's got to recalculate routes on the fly, it's got to be easily removed so you can take it with you manually, and the screen has to be not horrible. And of course, it should be updateable for not too much money. Must do US and Canada, other countries would be useful (India?). Recommendations please!

Email and iChat responses are fine. McGyver suggestions that involve building something myself are welcomed, as long as they are accompanied by a doughnut.

2) If you use a GPS, don't leave it with your keys or your garage door opener. Or don't have a little icon in it that shows where home is. Can you see where I am going with this?

3)I like these two bits by this fellow, who seems kind of smart:
- Principles of the American Cargo Cult
- His short page of common logical fallacies

Of course, if people thought about this stuff, we'd have a much smaller Weeeb and virtually no talk radio. Mmmmmm.... No talk radio. Sweet.

4) The Hamburger Bed is bad-ass! And not for sale. Make me one! With six strips of bacon!

5) Nice guide to different kinds of stitches. This is useful for fixing things.

6) I have confidence in your ability to make one of these clever reading lights in time for my birthday. If you are pressed for time, you may buy one instead.
